The star of the mens competition at the moment is surely the great frenchman Thierry Gueorgiou. The 28 year-old is unbeaten in his four World Cup events this season, even winning yesterdays sprint in Sweden with five seconds.

Without medals in Denmark last year Gueorgiou is looking for his revenge in Ukraine, and he will spend the next week there for his final preperations.

- It will be a very important training camp because the vegetation and weather will be very similar to the conditions at WOC. Last week I had a small injury and I chose not to run the long distance in Sweden just to be ready for this training camp, Gueorgiou said this week.

In the womens class it was a mixed week for Simone Niggli. She was a bit lucky to win the mass start on Monday when Minna Kauppi chose the wrong lane in the run-in with a clear lead. On Tuesday Niggli made mistakes and ended up only fifth, with a victory for russian Tatiana Riabkina. But on the final sprint there were no doubt at all- Niggli winning by more than 30 seconds on a quite easy course.

- I have been training quite hard in front of this World Cup, and I will now focus on less hours and more intervals. I hope to improve my shape even more to Ukraine, Simone said, giving her competiors something to think about.

The three individual finals in WOC will be the next three World Cup events, and thus very decisive for the overall standings. The overall standings so far can be found at the IOF
