An impressive total of 40 nations have entered runners for this year's WOC. 130 women and 184 men have registered to run in one or more of the three individual formats and the relay.

Full teams of 7 men and 7 women have been entered by Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine, and Finland has 13 runners participating. From far afield come Australia (10 runners), Canada (11), China (9), Hong Kong (5), Japan (6), New Zealand (4), South Africa (3), and USA (10).
